Transnational Partnership Meeting in Athens

The second transnational meeting of the Promoting Artificial Intelligence Competences (PAIC) project took place on October 4, 2024, in Athens, Greece. Partners met to discuss advancements in the project, aimed at enhancing AI competencies through vocational education and training (VET).

Progress and Strategic Goals

A central focus of the meeting was the review of the project's extensive curriculum, comprising over 320 pages of content tailored to equip educators with practical tools for integrating AI into their teaching. Participants highlighted the importance of making this material accessible, proposing segmentation into smaller units, the addition of interactive elements, and classification by difficulty levels. These measures aim to provide structured, progressive learning for educators and students alike.

The development of an online platform was another key discussion point. This platform, led by technical and creative teams, will serve as a repository for the curriculum, featuring user-friendly interfaces, feedback mechanisms, and multilingual compatibility. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to delivering a resource that meets diverse educational needs.

Upcoming Activities and Collaborations

The next major milestone is the training of trainers, scheduled for January 2025 in Italy. Preparations include finalizing course materials, logistical planning, and participant selection, which is set to be completed by December 1, 2024. This immersive training aims to empower educators with the skills to effectively disseminate AI knowledge within their institutions.

Project partners also outlined strategies to improve management and dissemination efforts. A dissemination schedule, focusing on social media outreach, will be shared to promote project visibility and engagement across Europe.

Building Towards the Future

The meeting underscored the value of collaboration to address contemporary educational challenges. With regular check-ins planned, including an online meeting on October 21, 2024, and the next transnational meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria, in May 2025, the project is on track to achieve its objectives.

In conclusion, the Athens meeting exemplified the synergy of international collaboration in fostering innovation and excellence. As the PAIC project progresses, its impact on vocational education and training is expected to resonate across Europe, equipping learners for an AI-driven future.
